I have often pitied the servers at Olive Garden for what they must put up with as it relates to their bottomless bowl of salad and endless baskets of breadsticks. My mother further extended my empathy thise evening when she actually reached to tap on the waitress—while she was serving entrees to the next table over, no less—and ask for a refill on our own salad and breadsticks.
Of course, we hadn’t really been salad-less very long and there was still a breadstick left, so I felt an apology was in order on our behalf—seeing as I can’t stand it when someone interrupts myself or a guest I’m in the middle of taking an order from.
I trust that leaving her three 20s to cover a $46 check will suffice.
